History

Garforth Evangelical Church was originally known as Salem Chapel and was built in 1872 and was closed in 1969. After commercial use, it was bought the 1980s by Garforth Evangelical Church, who added a brick extension.

The Garforth Scout Group which was founded in 1908 would meet at what is now the Toll Bar garage and would later meet at the Salem Chapel
